Will food and meal planning be customized?
Yes, I design a very personalized program with you, and believe this is the key to long lasting success. We develop your meal and snack goals taking your unique needs, lifestyle, and food preferences into consideration. Most of the foods you love can be included. I respect cultural differences, and encourage keeping your best eating habits while focusing your positive energy and attention on the changes that will be most beneficial.

How do I make an appointment?
Provide your preferred contact information and I will arrange a free phone call to discuss your needs and how I can help you meet your goals. At that time we will schedule an appointment.

Before the appointment, download the initial visit form, complete it and bring it with you to your first visit. If you keep lists of your medications and supplements you can bring the lists instead of completing those sections of the form. Please download and view my "Notice of Privacy Practices" document and my "Notice of Receipt of Privacy Practices" document.

If you have copies of any bloodwork/labs or blood glucose records please bring them with you.

If you forget these things….come in anyway!

It is most important that you bring yourself and a desire to make changes in a fun and positive way.

How often will I come in for visits?
That depends on your goals and needs. Many people like weekly visits.

Others schedule follow-up visits every other week until their feel comfortable with their progress.

Some individuals with simpler nutrition concerns (such as those who need information about healthy eating for lactose intolerance), may only need 1 or 2 visits.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash and checks in the office.

I accept PayPal for on-line nutrition or meditation sessions and coaching classes.

Do you see children and pregnant women?
I see children for many reasons including: picky eaters, overweight and underweight issues, food allergies and sensitivities, guidelines for those who decide to be vegetarian, and advice on healthy eating patterns. Helping overweight and obese children improve their habits is a specialty. I have published several papers on pediatric obesity, and diabetes prevention in children.

I encourage woman who are planning to become pregnant to have their current diet evaluated, so we can make suggestions for changes and discuss nutrition needs in pregnancy.

I provide nutritional therapy and consultation for healthy pregnant woman, gestational diabetes, woman who were overweight or underweight prior to pregnancy, excessive or insufficient weight gain in pregnancy, multiple gestation, and woman who are breastfeeding.

Are your nutrition services covered by health insurance?
I participate with Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, ConnectiCare, HealthyCT and Oxford. Even with these insurers, some plans cover medical nutrition therapy and some do not. I will ask for the information needed and call your insurance company to determine whether or not nutrition services are covered and the specifics for your plan.

I am not a provider with Medicare.

What will happen if I want an appointment while away or traveling?
We can discuss other options such as counseling via phone or HIPAA compliant video conferencing.
